Follow SPOKES by TUFFY
- 01/2012 Snow Travel Expo 2012The 2012 Snow Travel Expo website has just gone live. The directors of the event desired something that was clean, information based and easily edited in Wordpress. The design was taken care of by TUFFY, the backend development built by Jake Jackson from Blue Liquid. Be sure to check back in March to see the 2012 creative direction. Get excited, I am!

www.snowtravelexpo.com.au - 01/2012 Tumblr FunMy fascination for Tumblr has begun. With so many visual stimulants in everyday life. I've finally found a home for it all.
SPOKES has been running for a few months. It's a day-by-day documentation of my love for bikes in all their amazing forms.
TYPE(d) is a compilation of typography related imagery I've found in everyday life. It's an ever-changing mood board based on my mood. An open source available to anyone that stumbles onto it. The best thing is it's available online whenever it's needed to stimulate the next idea. It's my own concentrated google search.
As I see the potential, I guess I have plans for these two expressive sites. But at this moment in time... it's just simply, fun.
Follow your passions.
They will lead you the way.
- 12/2011 CoastalwatchPlus goes live! The Marketing team from plus.coastalwatch.com approached me to develop their online ad campaign for the launch of the C+ site. It involved a teaser campaign to run for a week, followed by a website take over utilising all assets of the current coastalwatch.com website.
The artwork for the launch can be seen to the left. It incorporated rich media (video) ads for the skyline and medium rec. Other assets were flash banners pitching the new benefits on the C+ website. The result was clean, sophisticated and effective. The results in subscribers will tell how successful it's been. - 11/2011 Welkom homeAfter a month traveling Europe, my Fiancee and I have arrived in Amsterdam. The plan: live, explore and enjoy the way of life in the Netherlands. To welkom our arrival www.benjamintuffy.com is now online. And considering how inspired I've been by the amount of bicycles here in Amsterdam, I've felt to urge to launch S P O K E S by T U F F Y
Follow it here It will covers everything that uses spokes to carry them through life. It ranges from fixed wheel bandits to dirt bikes, BMX freestyle to bamboo framed mountain bikes. Video's, tracks, sketches and magazines. All of which, express the freedom you have when your leg climbs over that frame, and you take off. - 10/2011 CoastalwatchPLUSplus.coastalwatch.com
Over the last few months it has been my objective to develop a stronger understand of user experience when designing websites. When Russel Holt and Martin Pascoe from Coastalwatch approached me to aid in the development of the landing pages for the launch of CoastalwatchPlus, a subscriber based version of the existing coastalwatch.com, I was prepared and excited about the opportunity.
Four landing pages were to be developed to trial on registered members, all targeting different user patterns and offering bonus items to entice the user into a subscription.

I was also excited to work with Dominic and Ian on the packaging design of their Seal Doctor, a product that the market has been eagerly waiting for.

Developer: 24Hours – Web Development House - 09/2011 We were all teenagers onceTeaming up with Kate McMahon from ABC Magazines once again, we pulled together another great piece of work for the kids of Australia. This time around it was a 2012 School Diary for the television channel, ABC3.
Working inline with a strict style guide from ABC3, it was huge challenge to create a new product that would stand apart from the previous edition created by Pepita Wilson. Digging deep into my stock art folders and recycling the style guide graphic used in 2011, I managed to create a punchy, fun and original diary which hopefully inspires kiddies enough to hold close throughout 2012.

"It was simple. It was glorious. It was the stuff that keeps surfers awake at night. This was Indonesia, 2000 miles and 13,000 islands, from the most populous rock in the world to a sand cay with a lone palm tree. this was Indonesia, from south to north"

This photo of me alone with the aircraft during my pre-flight inspection, reflects the isolation and solitude I felt at 1500ft above Bankstown airport that day. My first solo circuit was an experience I can't put into words, it's private, personal and unforgettable.
Bankstown ground, Cessna 152, Delta November Charlie, Received Bravo, Holding at Sydney Aviators, Request start clearance for engine start... first solo flight... Stoked!
www.sydneyaviators.com.au - 05/2011 A city of snowBack again in 2011 for its sixth year, the Snow Travel Expo has proven to be a huge success. The Expo is an independent, privately owned business run by snow enthusiasts. It's creator, Phil Osborn whom I've work closely with since it's conception is the ideal client giving me a full creative license and opportunity to brand the event and define it's position in the market. The current creative is a small diorama that quickly became an iconic image in the Australian snow travel landscape and also, fast engraving itself in the snow enthusiasts calendar each year.

This month I worked with two very motivated and inspiring girls, Julie Jenkins and Felicity MacDougal. Over a few days, we pulled together a small publication for the Playground Weekender festival located on the Hawksbury River, NSW.
Photographer Chris Samuel set up a photobooth back stage and shot the featured artists at the 2011 festival. See here www.christophersamuel.com.au

www.playgroundweekender.com.au - 03/2011 If looks could killFor the third year, It was great to see the return business of the Hopkins Group. Excited by the budget we were able to step up the production and styling on Marco Polo. Due to time restrictions on the Capital M shoot, our creative solution was to composite the studio shots to a background we captured in the clients basement on the day.
